Procter & Gamble Partners with National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. to GIVE HOPE to Millions of Women Across the Country

With each brandSAVER coupon redemption, a donation is made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. to Support Early Detection

Cincinnati, OH - September 2009 - The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) (NYSE:PG) is pleased to announce the launch of GIVE HOPE, a partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. (NBCF) to help increase women's chances of survival from breast cancer through early detection. NBCF is an organization aimed at saving lives through breast cancer education and providing mammograms for those in need.

A special edition of the P&G brandSAVER coupon booklet will be included in newspapers delivered to over 57 million homes across the country on Sunday, September 27 to help kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month on October 1. For every brandSAVER coupon redeemed from this booklet, a two-cent donation will be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. A total of 3 billion coupons will be distributed. This uncapped donation from P&G will be solely based on the number of coupons redeemed starting September 27th. The donations will be used by NBCF to fund education programs across the country.

"Dancing With the Stars" host Carrie Ann Inaba has joined the fight against breast cancer based on her personal experiences with the disease. Inaba is dedicated to helping spread the word about this worthwhile program and about the importance of early detection.

"My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, so this cause is very close to my heart," says Inaba. "She was lucky to have caught it early and her cancer is in remission. Many people don't realize that breast cancer has a 98 percent five-year survival rate if detected early, so education and early detection are incredibly important."

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Conducting a breast self-exam at least once a month and getting a mammogram once a year after age 35 are simple preventative measures that can save lives. Women can now use the interactive tools available at www.mypinkplan.com to set up their own plan, including reminders to do self-exams, schedule clinical exams and mammograms. www.mypinkplan.com is a joint effort from P&G and NBCF to help women create and follow their own prevention plan, personalized to their specific needs.

"We are thrilled to join forces with Procter & Gamble to spread awareness about breast cancer education and prevention," says NBCF Founder & CEO, Janelle Hail. "The brandSAVER coupon booklet is something millions of women across the country look for as a way to purchase quality products for their families while saving money, so it's a great opportunity for them to give hope to women and save money at the same time!"

Numerous brands Including Venus, Swiffer, Tide, Downy, and Bounce will have money-saving coupons in the September 27 brandSAVER and will also introduce special limited-edition pink products in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Consumers can visit www.mypinkplan.com for more information on the September 27 brandSAVER coupon booklet as well as information on breast cancer prevention and awareness and the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.
